About us

Dear Readers!

"Klio. Journal of  Polish and World History"  is a quarterly published by Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. It has been issued since 2001 and is a successor of an irregular journal „Acta Universitatis Nicolai Copernici. Seria: Historia.'' We publish articles on the history of Poland and the world, presenting not only the results of the current research, but also source editions, literature reviews, and reports on the key scientific conferences.

Starting from the issue no. 16, “Klio” has been available online at the Academic Journal Platform (Pl. Akademicka Platforma Czasopism, APCz), which promotes the  exchange of ideas in the  scientific community.

Since 2015, “Klio” has joined the group of a distinguished few Polish historical journals included in Twój tekst tutajERIH PLUS. In 2021, the Ministry of Education and Science granted 70 points per publication in “Klio”.

„Klio”is financed by Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń Faculty of History. In 2019, „Klio” was granted financing for the best Polish scientific journals by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Publishing in „Klio” is free of charge and neither the authors nor the readers pay any fees. The journal does not publish advertisements, nor resort to direct marketing of any sort.
