The quality of the publication is overseen by the Editorial Advisory Board under the supervision of the Editor-in-chief – professor Krzysztof Mikulski, PhD – and his secretaries.
The Editorial Advisory Board sees to the harmonious development of the journal to provide a platform for an in-depth, scientific debate and presentation of the state-of-the-art research. Following its mission, it sets a direction for further work and future goals, watches over the ethical standards, and supports the Editorial Committee in the key strategic decisions affecting the journal’s profile.
The Editorial Committee of „Klio” gathers historians specializing in a variety of periods ranging from ancient to modern history, all working under the skilful direction of the Editor-in-chief. Our editors, well-versed with recent debates on teaching history, follow the latest releases, which allows us to publish reviews of the most important new books in the field. The expertise of the members of the team enables them to assess the texts’ compliance with the standards and profile of the journal and to appoint the appropriate reviewers. We ensure that the ethical standards are observed and the texts follow all the editorial guidelines published in our stylesheet. And finally, we report on the key events in the scientific community in our segment “the Chronicles”.
The secretaries gather the documentation and make sure that the double blind peer-review of the articles and proper procedures set by the Editorial Committee are observed. They are responsible for updating the website and indexing the articles in the databases. They also assist the authors with Academic Journal Platform and make sure each issue is published on time and answer the inquiries by the authors and readers sent to klio@umk.pl
Our commitments:
- Responsibility: the Editor-in-chief is responsible for the selection of the material to be published. He is supported by the editors and reviewers specialising in their respective fields. In his decisions, the Editor-in-chief follows the law regulating the issues of plagiarism, libel and property laws.
- Confidentiality: the members of the Editorial Committee are bound to observe professional secrecy and not disclose the articles sent to the journal. All those who have access to the article are listed in the reviewing procedure.
- Discrimination prevention: we follow the rule of the law regulating discrimination.
- Disclosure and conflict of interest: although the rejected articles are archived, they cannot be used in the research by the members of the team or the reviewers without a direct written permission by the author.
